I get this great thrill out of seeing attractive magazine ads, photos, brochures, pamphlets and web sites and then wanting to learn and acquire the skills to produce them. I also love photography and desktop publishing, and possibly videography. I think I have got too many interests on my plate. But it seems the job prospects are not as good for graphic design, so my second interest became the information technology field, such as computer technician or programming. I think I am both a creative and technical person. But I can’t seem to make up my mind.
I had already purchased books for Adobe Photoshop CS3 and CSS. I began reading and self-training myself on photoshop and CSS. Should I do graphic design on the side instead?
I got a degree in English but desire a career change. I just need to finally come to a decision once and for all.

seems like you really want to do that art thing, but lets face it. money is what makes the world go round. you need money to survive: to get food on that table to make sure you have something covering that table like a roof…
information and technology is where you want to go. job positions look fairly decent and there are surpisingly a large majority open… pay is faily decent as well like (range from like 60 to 100000) run a search and check it out
Hey man. its not the matter, its depends on your interest… if you are creative boy with good thinking, enthu, active then its better to go for design/graphic…
or Development…
Here its not the topic dev/design… but yr interest..
Think, play as your wish,interest.. dont let others to play on u
InfoTech is in demand today because technology is the main topic of industries today.so it is easier to have a career on that, because it is easy to find jobs for you and usually has a high salary range.althogh graphic design might be useful to,but it is not advisable because there are limited jobs you can enter to after.but if you really want this course,it is your life.choose wherever you are happy with.
Combine the two. Go for IT major with a graphic design minor, or visa versa.
