Awesome vid!!!..I wonder who the few douche bags were that voted thumbs down and can’t appreciate a nice free tutorial
Many thanks! It’s like having Gordon Ramsay doing Photoshop on a NICE day! Just found you & can’t wait to see your other tutorials.
This is awesome. Thank you for the tutorial …
at first i was thinking “here we go, another wanker who thinks he knows what he’s doing” but that was amazing… i liked it, shame on whoever doesnt
This is a fantastic video! Clear to the point and very well done! Carry on doing these videos its amazing and doesnt go unnoticed! ; )
Very nice Gavin!
thanks alot!
Nicely done tutorial.
I did use the same filter/adjustments but just didnt use any layers. So this tutorial showed me how I can clarify things like in this example the tree and bush. Helped a lot.
What u didnt mention but I think it does can help a bit is to use -> Image -> Adjustments -> Curves. It is not that important but can sometimes have a nice effect.
Thanks again.
thanks!!
Excellent . I like the pace of your speaking – fast and straight to the point!
can you do this in photoshop elements??
Sweet, glad that I have a quad core, so it is faster when bluring :D
very effective!
Sweet. I want to try this for a game background :)
Make a duplicate of a layer you want to have B&W, process it as a B&W. Then just by using layers masks make a radial gradient (2nd icon from left). That’s all. Just remember to set white to black gradient. ;)
well miniatures shot normally appear to be large normally, because you dont have any regular sized object to compare it to. And they are not just for small budget films, alot of large sets in the lord of the rings such as the towers were not cgi like alot of people think but well built miniatures.
@dano
New layer, desaturate to B&W, mask out area you want to show colours through from background layer (selection tools, gradient or brush)…. tah-dah. Search video tut library for layer masks, desaturate, colour to b&w… etc.
maybe somebody can help me i’m using ps cs4. I wanna create picture where object which are placed in center are B&W , but us more to pictures boarder than more colours are visible (smooth coulor blend from B&W to colours)
then you just have to make that happen when you are shooting… make sharp part blurry is easy; not so easy if you want to make blurry part sharp, as information is not there…
I wonder if you could do the opposite and make miniature sets appear to be large? Maybe for low budget films etc.
Right on!
