So I designed my book cover in Adobe InDesign, and I have 9×12″ sheet of cardboard. My issue is that when I try to print it out, it is either in the wrong direction, wrong size, or both! How can I print it out in the correct size in the correct direction?
By the way, the cover from edge-to-edge is 7.5″ by 5.25″.

Make a PDF of your doc check your page setup for landscape vs. portrait and make sure that you chose custom size for your doc and manually add the dimensions of your sheet then place the pdf of your cover where you want it to be when printed. If you’re using Registration marks ect. you may have to place them manually.
