Also, InDesign has some preset templates you can use. When you first start up InDesign, on the right side of the Welcome box that pops up is a “Create New” option. Under there, just select “From Template”. This will open up Bridge, and will show you the templates to choose from- there is a Brochures folder.
If you already have InDesign open, you can go to File… New… Document From Template, and it will bring up the same dialog box as when you first start up InDesign.

(on a PC the full path looks something like: C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeTemplatesInDesign5.0Brochures)
Once you have a brochure of the right size open, save it under a new name and just begin customizing it.
