I have very basic knowledge of ID, i.e. grids, text flow. However, I am about to design a book which consists of 200 pages but don’t know how to go about it and where to start from.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking.
Create a new document, and make it 200 pages 33p x 51p facing pages.
Then it just depends on how you would like to set it up.
example: I would suggest this way if your printer prints double sided.
Cover
2 & 199
3 & 198
4 & 197
5 & 196
6 & 195…etc.
When your ready to print, go to print booklet, booklet type 2-up Saddle Stitch, print setup – setup paper size letter, printer… two sided
example: I would suggest this way if your printer doesn’t print double sided.
make 2 documents each with 100 pages 33p x 51p facing pages.
cover
3 & 198
5 & 196
7 & 194
etc. until you get to 99 & 102
then back page.
then in the other document
2 & 199
4 &197
6 & 195…etc.
When your ready to print, print the first document, go to print booklet, booklet type 2-up Saddle Stitch, general – copies reverse order, print setup – setup paper size letter
Then turn those pages over and repeat without selecting reverse order.
If your sending it somewhere to get printed ask them how you should set it up.
There is probably an easier way to do this, but at the moment I can’t think of one and I’m not even sure if this will work exactly the way I say it will.
