This tutorial will teach you how to make this paint style text effect which can be used as a great wallpaper. This is a beginner aimed tutorial, the techniques are pretty simple so give it a go. You will need: a) a few splatter photoshop brushes. You can download some for free here: myphotoshopbrushes.com b) an image of either a wall, concrete or rock. I am using a weathered concrete texture, than can be found here www.sxc.hu c) a grungy kind of font. I used a typewriter font, if you haven’t got any like this then download some free here: www.dafont.com Ok, let’s get started. [1] Create a new document with dimensions 900 x 600 pixels (or choose your own) and fill the background layer black. [2] Using some splatter brushes make a few splats in the middle like so. [3] Right click on the splatters layer, select blending options and add an outer glow using the settings shown in the video. Once this is done, right click on the layer and convert to smart object. [4] Copy & paste the concrete image you downloaded and make sure its in the layer above the splatters then add a clipping mask by holding Alt and clicking between the 2 layers. [5] Next add your text with large letters and mess around a little bit with the character spacing. [6] Duplicate this layer and then hide it.
