I’m a sophomore in high school and I know I want to do something in art. To me graphic design sounds fun but I want to go to a good school. I don’t care where the school is. My drawing teacher said that San Jose State was one of the best but there should be more right?
I would also like to add that I’m looking for mostly a public college because they are a little bit cheaper.

Hi all,
I’m thinking of trying my hand at web design as I’m ok with html/css etc but I was wondering how web designers get their clients to edit their own pages. I tried installing WordPress (so they can use the UI there) on a local server (Xampp) but I find the service a little too blog-orientated. Anyone know of simple/free visual HTML Editors/FTP which aren’t too daunting for the non-technical minded.

I’ve done one freelance job before and it was pretty frustrating. I had to travel and spend money I really didn’t have just to meet up with someone so they can sit behind me and critique every thing I do, only to later revise the whole thing. Of course, this was my one and only freelance job I did, and got paid decent, but wondering if others who have done freelancing always feel it’s worth it?

Sorry so long but…
I graduated college last May in graphic design and I’m only a seasonal employee who does art work at Six Flags. Since August, it has been the worst four months of my life. That’s how long I’ve been job searching and all I got out of it so far was 5 interviews, no offers, I followed up. I even applied places outside my field of study. I’m came close to risking my life by joining Labor Ready. There’s a 99% chance of me going back to my seasonal job when the park opens in March–I’ve turned…
