What features do each program have that the other doesn’t? Is it really necessary to have all 3?
Can you please let me know what the bundle is called? thanks

You can get them in a bundle along with Acrobat and yes, each has a specific function although some do overlap.
Use Photoshop to manipulate (photographic) images, scan, draw, etc.
Illustrator is also a drawing program but unlike Photoshop it is vector based. This means you can enlarge your artwork to any size you like without getting the blocky pixelated look you would with a much enlarged Photoshop image.
Indesign is the page layout software where you can combine all your drawn artwork, photos and other images and layout all the text associated.
For example an annual report, create your logos etc. in Illustrator, scan and manipulate your photos in Photoshop, then combine with the text in Indesign.
Additional Info: Design Standard includes Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and full Acrobat. Premium also includes web design software.
