i havent gotten my degre yet, but i want to land a job in the graphic design field as fast as posible. whats the best way to do that?

You have a couple choices.
You can start with internships or freelancing. For me I did both. The freelancing kind of evolved from the internship. I did a website for an engineering professor at my school, and from there he and the department chair of the art and technology dept liked it so much that every time a job came up, I was called to see if I wanted to do the job. Through the rest of my time at that college, word of mouth spread and soon my web designing hobby turned into a freelance job with nice money.
Or, you can start with a job at a print shop or design agency. Develop a small and professional portfolio and personal website to easily show potential employers.
