I am a just starting out my career in graphic arts. I went to school and I am a few classes shy of completing my bachelors degree. I need to get out and work so that I am holding more that a piece of paper on graduation day. My resume looks like someone forgot to write it. My portfolio is far from polished, but it is mostly school projects. I am scared about the job market. Any advice from working professionals?

Additional Information:
I am looking to work in a graphic media or graphic design firm. I need to make some real money because I do have student loans and my own living expenses.
