I do not have a license for a service that I want to provide, and I would like to hand out business cards/flyers to people. Has anyone had this experience? How do you recommend this be done? Thanks.
I dont’ know if this makes a difference, but it would be very small like braiding someone’s hair (they would call me and i can come to their house, or they can come to my apartment). No chemicals, and I wouldn’t have more than 1 “client” every two or three weeks.
But in terms of giving my address, I should not do this (for lease purposes)?

your lease probably prohibits business use of the premises.
certainly, mine did when I lived in an apartment.
further, many cities also prohibit business uses of residential property, or strictly limit the number of deliveries per day, etc. to preserve the residential nature of the area.

You most likely can’t. In addition to your license you have to certify the property and most apartments are not zoned to run businesses. You are not even allowed to have a home based business there if people visit your home. You need to check with your city planners to know the exact specification for your town.
Also, some businesses, hair styling in particular, require alot of special safety licensing due to chemical use, you have to provide a safe way of disposing of the chemicals, and you can’t install special drainage systems into your apartment.
