I have a BA in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design. Since I graduated I have realized that I made a mistake and should of gone into counseling. Do I need to go back for a second bachelors in psychology and then get my masters or can I get a masters in counseling with the degree I have?

Talk to your Guidance councilor, they will be able to provide you with the best information regarding this question.
I would guess that you’d have to go back for a second Bachelor’s. Don’t worry; you can undoubtedly apply some of your old credits to your new degree, especially if you were at school recently enough. See a guidance counselor.
You can get a masters with the degree that you have but I wouldn’t recommend it as it isn’t practical – Try an advanced diploma course in counseling and do your MA if you want in any subject.
Counselling to be successful is more about a way of being not about a way of thinking. You can really only learn it by doing it in a controlled environment filming sessions and watching them back. Talking about doing counseling is pointless. The best students I have ever taught have been seriously into their own personal growth.
You’ll have to have the foundational knowledge in order to be accepted into a graduate program. This may mean getting a second degree (hopefully you will be able to transfer credits) or it may mean just taking additional coursework. If you have a particular master’s program in mind, check out their requirements in terms of course-work and go from there. Good luck!
