i am wondering because I don’t know what major to take in college. i am interested in doing things with the computer, like photoshop and illustrator. stuff like clothing design and posters, and stuff like that.

It’s pretty much the same thing. One thing colleges can’t seem to agree on (to their own detriment) is what to name a standard graphic design degree. I’ve seen graphic design, graphic communications, communication arts, commercial art, production art, and graphic arts.
It all pretty much amounts to the same thing,
