When you inverse a selection to delete something outside that object/shape. I am currently in need of deleting something outside a shape at the moment but when I click on the shape inverse is not available to use. Why is this?

Have you used old versions of Photoshop as well? There was a feature in older versions which is disappeared in CS. In layer panel, next to each layer, there is an eye for hiding, next to that there was an additional box with the picture of brush in it, that you could change it to a “chain”, so you could join some layers to gather, for working with stamp and many other things. Do you know how can i do that in CS ?
