what’s the point of removing the whiteness? I mean like after u mess with the threshold you print it and proceed to cut it out…

theres a more simple way to create a multilayer stencil :
put the image on greyscale then go to image–>adjustments–>posterize ..then you can choose how many layers you want ,then go to filter–>artistic–>cutout and here you can get the options on the simplicity level and afew other options
