Graphic design process (GDP) is the art of putting together text or images using a variety of creative techniques such as drawing, painting and/or computerized effects. Aside from website designing, applications of graphic design process also include movies, television shows, or commercials.

Creating a graphic design masterpiece that will instantly stir-up interest and curiosity of purposeful as well as accidental website users and researchers is achieved by following an easy and efficient graphic design process. Basically, starting a graphic design project is a team effort between the website owner/s and graphic designer/s.

A movie poster is the first thing that invites a person to take interest in a movie. Someone is likelier to see a poster out on the street before even getting to watch the trailer or teaser attached to another film’s previews. It is the first step to making someone imagine what the movies is all about.

Given that premise, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to know that some artists have made a good living illustrating movie posters. In fact, there are quite a few of them who have been as iconic as their…

One of the things that make After Effects animation a little easier is that their design places five basic attributes in a ‘Transform’ set that is common to all After Effects objects. Having this common ground makes the terrain a bit more familiar and helps your plan your design.

Every object in After Effects has this same set of attributes under the ‘Transform’ group: ‘Anchor Point, Position, Scale, Rotation, and Opacity’. All of these attributes appear with the stop watch icon to their left which means they can all be animated. As you discover new…

As the Baby Boomers move along on their journey from milk to Metamucil, companies are making all sorts of changes to accommodate the needs of their changing bodies. From lumbar supports in car seats to cushioned handles on kitchen utensils, manufacturers and service providers recognize the potential profit in catering to the comfort of an increasingly older population. That population is living longer, so they’ll be consumers longer, too.

But one element that’s been slow to catch up is graphic design. I believe a big reason is that the nation’s population of graphic designers skews toward…

The timeline options in After Effects add special design management features. While you might manually edit a layer timeline duration, using the duration/stretch control panel lets you make precise edits. If you want to synchronize layers or set precise timing, using this editable control feature is the tool of choice.

Like many edits in After Effects, manual tools are provided so you can make these edits visually. However, if you look at lower left of your timeline panel tools, you see three icons we’ll visit later but for now, the third icon on the far right,…

3D computer graphics

The advanced technique of graphic designing is the 3D computer design which gives the 3 dimensional illusions for the designs using the geometrical data. It also uses the light, wind and other effects to give a realistic view of the graphic. It is mostly used in entertainment world especially movies to design artificial environment. Movies like Avatar, used the 3D graphics using various software like Maya that on rendering gives a realistic 3 dimensional illusion of the sketch. The stages of 3D designing are modeling, layout and animation, and rendering. Often it…

Graphic designers work in many different settings and create many different types of objects. Basically, anything synthetic you buy or see is probably the product of-or at least bears the stamp of-a graphic designer: a cereal box, a billboard, a road sign, a magazine layout or a travel brochure. Given that there are tens of millions of websites now, and that many companies want to hire a talented designer to attract as much traffic to their sites as possible, the future looks bright for careers in graphic design. And given the rapid pace of technology,…

Adobe Illustrator is becoming a very popular program in the design world. Why is it so popular? The flexibility of this tool and ability to export high resolutions artwork has made it a killer program for graphics designers. Let’s find out what designers are using this program for their daily work.

1) Drawing Icons

Why draw icons in Illustrator? Illustrator has a powerful grid system that makes it so easy to draw precise icon graphics. The snapping feature and align tools make it so easy to draw icons.

There’s a certain something about a well-designed graphic that draws me to any type of publication. When I get a flyer in the mail or read an ad in the newspaper I know that if the product they are selling is presented well, the editor has may attention. This is an accomplishment on their end because my attention is something that is hard to acquire just like most other consumers. According to market research conducted by DraftFCB on a pool of 1,000 consumers, the average consumer gives up on point-of-sale ads in 1.7 seconds and on Internet…
