I’m a Hong Kong student and planning to come to the states for Uni. I would really want to do either advertising design or marketing, or interior design sort of majors.
Do you have any recommendations apart from Parsons?
Im pretty sure I will have enough marks from my IB grade, so academics requirement is not that of a constraint to me.
Please tell me what do you think !

I already have a BA in business administration with a marketing concentration and I’ve been doing graphics stuff for years. Would a certificate make a difference to an employer? I want to get a job in marketing where I can also do design projects. The certificate course is online and $1500 (Gatlin Education through Cal State).

Im trying to decide whether to major in Graphic DESIGN OR in Marketing&Advertising in university .
i love art , and i love to come up with the idea of commercials , the concept of some fliers , design business cards , websites , and also do the whole ads thing .
so i like both majors , and i m so confused as to which one i should do !!
please HELP
P.S : i know that at the end of the day, the decision is mine , but i just need some advices !! Thank you

I’ll be starting off my freshman year in the fall and need a laptop. I’m majoring in Graphic Design, and so far I’ve heard that purchasing a Mac is a better call. However, I don’t have a lot of money to be spending just on computer right now and the cheapest Mac on the market is $999. Is that a suitable computer for someone going into the graphic design field?

I want to double major in marketing and graphic design. The thing is, I’m not sure graphic design is exactly what I want.
I can handle people critiquing me, very easily. I am not a fan of making logos but could do it if asked. I want to focus on things like photo manipulation, and creating something sort of like a digital painting. I don’t want to make random abstract designs with no shade and no tint. I don’t care much for pairing my work with words unless its the thing my work is supposed to be advertising.

during your college, you take marketing management as your major. however, you strongly feel that being a graphic designer is your ‘call of living’. is it possible to work as graphic designer but then you have degree in marketing? and after all these times you learn graphic design by yourself (without formal education)
