I am going to be a high school senior and am strongly considering a career in graphic design. What schools have the best programs in this area? I live in Ohio so a school in the Midwest or a bordering state would be perferable, or strong programs that have an exceptionally low tuition would be great. I know that the University of Cincinnati has a great Graphic Design proggram in DAAP, but admittance is highly selective, so any additional schools would…

With a strong portfolio, a website and a small group of clients I would like to expand my graphic design business into something more full time. I would really appreciate anyone’s input. What would you pay for a logo for a small business? I would include a logo, business card, and brochure. What is a realistic price for a package like this?

Thanks so much :)

Best answer:

Answer by johnsonm655I like the fact that you are packaging up several forms of print I think that adds value. However, I really have no frame of reference of this type of service. I would set a regular price of $ 150 for this and run…

Question by Flighty 1: Graphic Design and Copyright?
I am considering doing some freelance graphic design for a couple of friends. One needs a logo, another wants some business cards, and the last needs some graphics for a web page.

For these and any future projects, do I need to do anything as far as copyrights? All the work will be custom from me and the ownership will be theirs (as specified in contract)–especially for the logo.

Is my job done once I design and turn over the work? Does that mean they have to worry about trademarks, copyright, etc?…

Question by chi freelance: Tax deductions for onsite freelance graphic design?
I have a large chunk of freelance income for 2010, earned from 3 different agencies, all onsite at their offices. (They sent 1099′s).

On Schedule C… Can I expense anything at all for ONSITE freelance jobs? None of the work was done from home. Only things I can come up with are possibly meals (for myself) and transportation, but I can’t tell if I’m eligible to deduct those… All the jobs were in the same metro area as I live and I took public transportation to all of them.…
