If I get a bachelors in graphic design, would I be able to do illustration jobs?
I’m 19 and trying to decide my school major. My main skills are with graphic design, so it would be the best idea to go for that. But I would really like to make money doing illustration and/or cartoons. Maybe a storyboard artist, cartoon illustrator or something like that. Would I need a degree in illustration for that? I have no life drawing or painting skills, I can just draw different cartoon styles. So I am looking for advice on what to do

Im a freelance artist and a business I work with sent me a mail today and asked if I would like to put some of my existing illustrations on the company site (its an online image site that sells wallpapers and such)

What can I do to start a career as an illustrator when it comes to getting my name out to publishers? I already have a growing portfolio and my artwork on the internet. I’m more looking toward children’s illustration and book cover design as opposed to entirely freelance artist work.

I know, I know, this is a stupid question. I’m just torn between whether I should get a degree in Graphic Design or Illustration as I’m equally passionate in both. Right now I’m majoring in graphic design and lovin’ it but what if I graduate and want to to do illustrating for a bit? Would I be screwed?
