Question by m: can a graphic design firm actually restrict me from doing freelance jobs on my own time?
I am offered a graphic design position doing a specific type of product but they said that I wouldn’t be able to do freelance jobs on my own time. If they make me sign a contract stating this, they can really do this? And if they don’t make me sign a contract stating this, would I be in the clear to do what I want?

I’m a freshman at a 4-year university now, but I absolutely hate it. I design logos, business cards, flyers, etc. Is it an industry standard or expectation that I be able to print what I design? I haven’t had much problem having customers outsource the print job to a printer of their choice, or print them themselves, but I have two customers now that were surprised that I only provide the design aspect.
I have a HP Office Jet J6480 that is wireless and does two sided print jobs automatically. Are there any jobs I could or should print for a small fee?
