Do what the client asks for. Your input is of zero importance to your client. Everyone has their own take on things and if they’re getting paid to further someone ELSE’S, they should do just that.

I have to create an art portfolio for a graduate program, my undergrad did not require it so it is my first time. I have done a graphic design portfolio but this is different to me. When I take pictures of my work should i have the painting or photograph fill the entire frame or have it up against a background hanging against a white or black wall? Thank you so much.

I live in the midwest in a city with about 40,000. I’ve started doing some graphic design work from home recently. So far nothing super big and fancy, just some small ads for the local newspapers. I just don’t know what is reasonable as far as how much my time is worth! So what should I charge (per hour) for my services?

I know wee bit of Corel Draw and Macromedia Flash and little of Photoshop which I learnt myself through its in-built tutorials, online and trial and error.
What I don’t know is how to enhance what little I know to make professional looking images (right now they look little amateurish).
I would like to
>> create logos
>> collages
>> create images
>> do simple animation and
basically be able to draw graphics and maintain my website. There are tons of courses available and I really don’t know which ones to take!
Basically…

I would like to design a nice blog on WordPress. I understand that I will need to upgrade to their premium version to get more features and options. That’s ok with me. What web techniques (things like CSS, HTML, etc..) should I need to design a nice blog? I have been working with HTML in Dreamweaver in designing a few websites but that was a “long” time ago! I haven’t kept paced with new things like XML, CSS, etc.. Do I need to learn those things? Also, do I still design the whole thing (say, using Dreamweaver) on my local…

I am interested in graphic design because I want to be a layout artist or web designer. But, I’m afraid that I won’t have enough talent for it and I also don’t have a portfolio. Also a graphic designer does not make alot of money. And if I major in graphic design then I would go to an art college but I kind of want to go to a university. Im slightly interested in computers so I was thinking of majoring in computer science or computer engineering but I researched it and your suppose to be great in math and…

I’m a stay at home mom, I have one client, my past employer. I don’t have much time, anyway I still do work for my last employer and I want to raise my rate because I do not get paid enough in my opinion. I have an associates degree, its not in graphic design, but something very close. I design guides, booklets, flyers, pretty soon a power point presentation, cd labels, and I can do much more. My stuff is for in-house printing (with a consumer printer) or to be e-mailed, or to be viewed on a cd (pdf). I…

CSS is an acronym for Cascading Style Sheets. CSS allows you to create fast loading pages, boost your search engine rankings, and alter your whole site with one style sheet. Then why don’t more people use them? This is for the reason that they got so used to html design and are afraid or too lazy to improve their skills. Some will also use ready made templates that contain flashy graphics, stuffed code and sometimes even contain hidden code embedded in the page.
CSS has been around for several years and is supported by all the major browsers available…
